Amanda Gari (Lydia Lasker) has been a part of the cabaret scene on both coasts, but prefers the one without snow and ice. Her shows provide a potpourri of special material, standards, Broadway, and impersonations. She loves to honor the memory of her grandfather, the great Eddie Cantor, and hopes you agree with her theory that it’s more important to be the relative of a celebrity than an ACTUAL celebrity…
As an actress, she has run the gamut from stripper Tessie Tura in Gypsy to portraying Judy Garland a record three times in three different plays, most fortuitously in Carved in Stone, where she met Leon Acord (and the rest, as they say, is history).
On television, she was a potential juror anxious to see mobster Sonny Corinthos put behind bars on General Hospital, and had the distinction of yodeling “Jingle Bells” as Liza Minnelli on Victorious.
